MYOPIA AND THE OUTDOORS
Bidirectional mendelian randomisation analyses were used in two large genome-wide association studies to demonstrate that more years in education cause increased levels of myopia. Studies have suggested that exposure to natural light is protective. This might suggest that we should for this, as well as other reasons, be encouraging parents to send their children outside to play.

Conclusion: There could be an association with short sightedness and spending more time in education. Children should be encouraged to play outside as natural light can be protective against this.Visit Details
